FEATURES: Ernie Pyle WWII Museum - This site features Ernie Pyle Birthplace and a museum that highlights the famous journalist’s life and writings as a correspondent. • Turkey Run State Park - Marvel in the natural geologic wonders of this beautiful park. Enjoy a short walk to the bridge overlooking Sugar Creek (downhill grade, uneven loose gravel), relax in the lobby, or rock away your cares on the porch. • Turkey Run Inn - Built in 1919 for the excursion trains from Chicago, which delivered adventuresome travelers for a holiday in this beautiful Indiana State Park. Enjoy a lunch buffet at The Narrows Restaurant. • Collom’s General Store - Built in 1879 and reopened in 2007, The Collom’s own a construction company that build and restore covered bridges. We will enjoy a presentation by Dan Collom. • Bridgeton Mill - The Covered Bridge crosses over the mill pond which is created by the mill dam. This puts it just above the waterfall. It is called the “Dam Waterfall.” The covered bridge being over a waterfall makes it Indiana’s Most Famous Covered Bridge. Meet the miller, enjoy a tour, and shop for products. |
