Departing: Tuesday, August 10, 2021
1 Day
Join TURNER as we Discover Anderson ... from the seats of the Historic Paramount Theatre to the halls of Anderson University and the tastes of Good’s Candy.  A great day of food and friends!

HIGHLIGHT CITY:  Anderson, IN

FEATURES:  Paramount Theatre - Opened on August 20, 1929, the John Eberson/Alvin M. Strauss-designed Paramount Theatre was the home of film and stage shows for 55 years, until the Paramount closed in 1984. In 1989, the theater was saved from destruction by a concerned group of citizens and renovated. The Paramount Theatre has now been restored to its original opulence. Every part of the theater has been returned to its 1929 state or otherwise improved to modern standards. A classic of Atmospheric style design, the Paramount Theatre is a testament to Eberson’s influential style. The Paramount Theatre was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. Sit back and delight in an organ concert in the breathtaking theatre.• Good’s Candy - No machine or methods of mass production can duplicate the superior quality that comes from hand dipping and small batch cooking. We insist on only the finest chocolate and other ingredients to ensure that their product is unparalleled. Dipping candy daily, without the use of any preservatives guarantees freshness. Why go to such great lengths to make candy? Simple… Quality is always in good taste. • Warner Sallman Gallery - Since May of 1987, Anderson University and Warner Press have jointly shared ownership of more than 140 works by Warner Sallman, with Warner Press holding the copyright and distribution rights, while Anderson University possesses the actual paintings and drawings. There are many ways to look at images. See them as objects of beauty; as historical artifacts; as mementos; as articles of piety; or as propaganda in the service of an ideology. In one way or another, the images painted by Warner Sallman have been seen in each of these ways.
