PIONEER WOMAN & MORE
Departing: Thursday, November 4, 2021
4 Days
Adventure ... It’s been in our story since long before Oklahoma was a state, and it’s even more a part of our story today. Within Pawhuska’s 3.8 square miles, you will find: The home of Osage Nation, the Pioneer Woman Mercantile, and the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. The birthplace of both the FBI and the Boy Scout Troops of America, and home to Oscar-winning Cowboy Ben Johnson. Over 85 downtown buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The film site for several major motion pictures, including Martin Scorsese’s upcoming Killers of the Flower Moon.

Daily Itinerary:
Day 1 Travel to Claremore, Oklahoma our home for three nights.
Day 2 Make our way to Pawhauska for a fun filled day of exploring.  Our stops include: Pioneer Woman Mercantile - Back in 2012, Ree and her husband Ladd lost their marbles and bought an old building in their town of Pawhuska, Oklahoma. They spent several years renovating the property, and it eventually became the bustling shop, restaurant, and bakery that we now know as The Mercantile. The Merc first opened its doors on October 31, 2016, but the building had a long history before the Drummonds got ahold of it. It was built in 1903 and became the Osage Mercantile Company in 1910. After that, it was transformed into the Osage Realty Company, then a telephone company, and, later, a C.R. Anthony department store. The Merc was practically destined to become a general store -shopping is in the building’s bones - but Ree also wanted to create a deli and bakery where locals and visitors could gather. Now, it’s all of the above. Lunch is special for our group in their banquet center.  •  Roaming The Osage Historical Tour - These unique tour treat guests to the spectacular countryside of Osage County.  Enjoy views of the Osage Hills, Tallgrass Prairie, Drummond Ranch, and more. • Drummond Ranch Lodge - Ree Drummond and her husband, Ladd, have been so generous to open up their Oklahoma lodge on Drummond Ranch to visitors. In fact, people come from near and far for the opportunity to drive 18 miles into the country to visit The Lodge, which serves as a guest house for the Drummonds and a production location for the filming of Ree’s popular TV show. (Exterior only if filming) • Ben Johnson Cowboy Museum - Dedicated to the Oscar-winning actor Ben Johnson, this amazing collection features notable Osage County cowboys, cowgirls, and western heritage. Check out the many world champions featured like Paul Lee Foreman and his championship buckles. Find out more about the iconic Drummond family; they've been ranching in Osage County for over 100 years. • Water Bird Gallery - Specializing in Native American gifts and products along with a books by local authors including Killers of the Flower Moon.

Day 3  Our day will be spent in Tulsa and include visits to the following: Philbrook Museum - In 1938 Waite Phillips surprised Tulsans with the announcement of his gift of the 72-room mansion and surrounding 23 acres of grounds as an art center. The vision first made possible by Waite and Genevieve Phillips is now one of America's finest art museums. The integrity of the original residence remains intact while later additions to the facility and gardens complete this classic Tulsa attraction. •  Woody Guthrie Center - Tells the life story about one of Oklahoma’s favorite sons. The legendary folk singer Woody Guthrie through interactive exhibits that let visitors hear his music and follow his path across the United States. Experience Woody Guthrie’s influence and virtual reality exhibit of the Dust Bowl and migration to California.  • Mother Road Market - Oklahoma’s first food hall!
