Friday, July 15, 2022 Terre Haute to Anchorage (One Night Stay in Anchorage)
Depart Terre Haute traveling to Chicago O’Hare International Airport for a late afternoon flight to Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city. You are responsible for your baggage check in and fees. Meal Money will be given for a meal in the airport prior to departure. With our layover enroute we will arrive late evening at Anchorage International Airport. We will board the coach and transfer to the Anchorage hotel for a one night stay. Meals: Meal $
Saturday, July 16, 2022 Anchorage to Valdez (One Night Stay in Valdez)
Breakfast included at the hotel prior to a city tour of historic downtown Anchorage, including Lake Hood and Lake Spenard. There is time for lunch on own before touring south to the coastal community of Whittier. Continue to the Begich Boggs Visitor Center to learn about the surrounding area before going through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel to Whittier. In Whittier board the vessel as we cruise across Prince William Sound to the coastal community of Valdez. Explore the three mile face of the mighty Meares Glacier and hear tales of the region as told by the Alaskan Crew. Keep your eyes open for marine wildlife such as otters, seals, and whales while viewing spectacular glaciers. A light dinner is included on the boat. Arrive and overnight in Valdez. Sunday, July 17, 2022 Valdez to Fairbanks (Three Night Stay in Fairbanks)
Breakfast included at the hotel prior to boarding the coach as we tour north along the Richardson Highway to Fairbanks. Enjoy stops at Keystone Canyon, travel to Thompson Pass, and enjoy a visit to view Worthington Glacier. Enjoy the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park Visitors Center followed by a stop at Rika’s Roadhouse. There will be a stop enroute for lunch on your own. Arrive in Fairbanks, our home for three nights and enjoy dinner before calling our day finished. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Monday, July 18, 2022 Fairbanks
Breakfast included at the hotel prior to boarding the coach to start our Fairbanks City Tour. This morning enjoy a day learning about the history of Fairbanks with a stop at the Morris Thompson Center and the Museum of the North. Time for shopping, exploring, and dining on your own in the downtown area. This afternoon, cruise aboard The Riverboat Discovery Sternwheeler … Alaska's most memorable adventure. Enjoy a relaxing, entertaining boat cruise on the Chena and Tanana Rivers, including a guided walking tour of the Chena Indian Village. See Susan Butcher's Champion sled dogs, the wedding of the rivers, and Athabascan art. Tonight, enjoy dinner at the Alaska Salmon Bake. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Tuesday, July 19, 2022 Fairbanks
Breakfast included at the hotel prior to boarding the coach to visit Gold Dredge #8. Learn about gold in Alaska and you even get to try your hand at panning! Next up is the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, one of the greatest engineering marvels of the 20th Century. Lunch is included today. This afternoon, enjoy a trip to the North Pole to the Santa Claus House, where everyday is Christmas. Return to Fairbanks and enjoy the evening at your leisure. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Wednesday, July 20, 2022 Fairbanks to Denali (Two Night Stay in Denali)
This morning, transfer to the Fairbanks Rail Depot, where you will board deluxe dome railcars for a scenic train ride to Denali National Park. Home to six million acres of pristine wilderness and Mt. Denali, the highest mountain in North America at 20,310’. Breakfast will be included on the train. Upon arrival to Denali, we will enjoy an included lunch. Transfer to the hotel and spend the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. There will be time for optional excursions such as flightseeing, white-water rafting, golf, ATV and jeep tours, flyfishing, covered wagon tours and guided hiking … just to name a few. Thursday, July 21, 2022 Denali
Breakfast is included this morning prior to boarding a school bus to travel deep into Denali National Park. On our Tundra Wilderness Tour we will search the vast wilderness for bear, moose, caribou, and Dall sheep. This four to six hour journey is narrated allowing for insight into the animals as well as the flora and fauna of this spectacular region. We will stop for photos as traffic allows. A snack and box lunch is included on board. There will be time for optional excursions in the late afternoon and evening. Meals: Breakfast, Snack on Tour, Box Lunch
Friday, July 22, 2022 Denali to Talkeetna to Anchorage (One Night Stay in Anchorage)
Breakfast included at the hotel prior to boarding the coach to tour south to the quaint community of Talkeetna. Our stop will include a Jet Boat Ride. On the jet boat, travel twenty miles on the Susitna River learning about the history and rivers in the area. A stop at Dena’ina Encampment is also made (1/4 mile walk). Lunch will be on your own in Talkeetna. Board the coach and head to Anchorage, for an evening exploring downtown at your leisure. Meal money is included for dinner. Meals: Breakfast, Meal $
Saturday, July 23, 2022 Anchorage to Chicago
Breakfast at the hotel prior to boarding the coach as we tour south to Portage and the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center to see Alaska’s wildlife up close. Next, head to the community of Girdwood, where you enjoy a tram ride to the top of Mt. Alyeska. Lunch will be on your own in Girdwood. Return to Anchorage for a group dinner before transferring to the Anchorage International Airport. Bid farewell to your local guide and driver as we board the plane for our overnight direct flight to Chicago O’Hare International Airport. You are responsible for your baggage check in and fees. Early morning arrival in Chicago where we will board our TURNER coach for our ride back to Terre Haute. Meal money included for meal enroute home. We expect to arrive mid afternoon. Meals: Meal $
