What is Pi? Pi (I) is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. The diameter of a circle is the distance from edge to edge (measuring through the center), and the circumference is the distance around the circle. After measuring circular objects for thousands of years, it has always been determined that a circle is a little more than 3 times its width around (3.14 is the number we've landed on). And because pi is a "constant number", it will always be the same for any circle of any size. … and this is why we decided to have Pie (Pi) today!
