This is a tour that we have wanted to offer for years and with 2026 being the “100th Anniversary” of Route 66 … it is the perfect time! This tour is packed with food and fun and is topped off by spending two nights in a beautiful lodge located within Starved Rock State Park.

Walk through a replica of the I and M Canal, window shop on a turn-of-the-century street, take a virtual ride on a replica trolley, live the legend of Route 66, land on the moon in a walk-in simulator, and experience space exploration and the Apollo missions. • The Illinois Rock and Roll Museum on Route 66 - Exists to preserve the history of musicians and bands with ties to Illinois while educating visitors about the rich music history. This is a world-class museum that collects, preserves and exhibits artifacts of artists who have reached national and international recognition, and by providing enlightening educational programs. • Gemini Giant and The Landing Pad Souvenir Shop - A ride down Route 66 is incomplete without a picture with one of the road's most famous residents, the Gemini Giant. And, The Landing Pad, were the Route 66 souvenirs are out of this world. Specially designed t-shirt, magnets and novelty items as well as Illinois Made items. • The Hegeler Carus Mansion - A National Historic Landmark. Virtually unaltered since its completion more than a century ago, the 57 room Mansion, built in 1874, is an example of high artistic achievement in architecture and interior design and the site of historic accomplishments in industry, philosophy, publishing and religion. • Awesome Ottawa Tour - History from their origins as a canal town to their industry in mining, law and even tourism. • Route 66 Hall of Fame Museum - Get a complete Route 66 Experience all under one roof! The Route 66 Association of Illinois Hall of Fame and Museum features thousands of artifacts and memorabilia related to Route 66 - The Mother Road, including Route 66 Artist and Icon, Bob Waldmire's bus and van! You’ll also have a great photo op with the largest Route 66 shield mural, painted on our museum's outside back wall! • Step on Guide of Pontiac’s Murals & Swinging Bridges - Pontiac is home to 24 outdoor murals that depict the city’s incredible history, including 18 walldog murals completed by sign painters and muralists from around the world in the summer 2009. In addition to the murals, Pontiac has three unique swinging bridges for pedestrian traffic. All three bridges cross the Vermillion river and have a rich history to the surrounding park. • Pontiac Oakland Museum - The nation’s greatest collection of cars, dealer items, literature, and all things related to the Oakland and the Pontiac automobile brands. • Starved Rock Lodge - Listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The architecture of this historic Lodge, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's, rivals that of national park lodges. The historic stone-and-log Lodge features 69 guest rooms. Lodge guests enjoy an indoor pool complex with two saunas, a hot tub.
