HIGHLIGHT CITY:  St. Louis, MO

FEATURES:  Missouri History Museum - Built as the first national monument to Thomas Jefferson, explore the history of St. Louis. Located in beautiful Forest Park, on the site of the main entrance to the 1904 World's Fair. The Jefferson Memorial Building section of the museum was built entirely with proceeds from the Fair, and opened to the public on April 30, 1913. Suspended above visitors in the Museum's Grand Hall is "The Spirit of St. Louis," sister plane to Lindbergh's. Discover the city's baseball history, learn about life on the Mississippi River, marvel at the magnitude of the 1904 World's Fair, and much more. • Special Exhibit “Mighty Mississippi” - This exhibit puts the grandeur of North America’s greatest river in context with the cultures that have grown and thrived around it, from the largest and most influential American Indian centers of the Mississippian cultural period; to the vast European and Indian fur trade networks that forever changed the continent; to the revolutionary steamboats, factories, and immigration of the Industrial Age. Discover the regional heritage of the Middle Mississippi watershed as revealed through a diverse range of stories and artifacts that stem from the Mother of Rivers and its tributaries. Through this mix of historic objects, images, and media, Mighty Mississippi will also shed light on how sustaining surrounding communities has long depended on wisely caring for the river environment and its resources. • Favazza’s Restaurant - Located in the St. Louis classic “Hill” neighborhood. Discover what makes Favazza’s so special and our experience at this historical landmark unforgettable.   Enjoy a family style Italian lunch feast.  This is one of our favorite restaurants in St. Louis. • Old Cathedral - Basilica of St. Louis, King of France - The Old Cathedral is one of the most historic buildings in St. Louis with roots dating back to 1764 when St. Louis founders Pierre Laclede and Auguste Chouteau dedicated a parcel of land to the people of St. Louis for religious purposes that was called the "church block."  The present building is the fourth church to be erected on the site.  Construction began in 1831 and the church was dedicated in 1834. • Gateway Arch River Cruise - See the Gateway Arch from a different point of view as you relive the days when steamboats ruled the river. Discover the mighty Mississippi’s important role in America’s past and the present-day on this one-hour cruise along St. Louis’s working downtown riverfront, narrated by the captain.
