We love Ohio’s Amish Country and are thrilled to offer this three day tour. We will travel the Amish Backroads to visit Amish businesses and homes and leave with a bag full of treats and treasures.  Our Amish guide who was born and raised in the area will be with us, sharing a lot about the Amish and Mennonite culture and will answer any questions about the area and lifestyle.

FEATURES: David Warther Carvings - View the work of  David Warther, a fifth generation carver of Swiss heritage, who is continuing his family's carving legacy in the center of Ohio's beautiful Amish country. The carvings created by David are intricately worked of antique ivory, ebony wood and abalone pearl. Each of the 96 works (and counting) is heavily engraved through the art form known as scrimshaw. David works daily in his on-site workshop where he is creating the "History of the Ship" from 1st Dynasty Egypt, circa 3000 B.C., to the present day. This unique art collection-museum forms an artistic and highly educational exhibit that culturally enriches all who view these extraordinary works of art. • Amish Country Theater - Enjoy a laughter filled two hours of fun at this family friendly live theater, with a country bumpkin who is very unpredictable. The parody songs and jokes are sure to make you laugh! • Behalt-Amish and Mennonite Information Center - This is a must see, you will experience a guided tour of a fabulous circular mural that is 260 ft x10 ft and learn about the local culture. • The Farm at Walnut Creek - Take a one hour horse drawn wagon ride through the farm to feed over 400 exotic animals. After our tour, walk to the big farmhouse to visit with the Amish women and have a fresh baked cookie! • Walnut Creek Cheese - The largest bulk food store in the area. A great place to buy spices in bulk, fresh meats, cheese, and an in house bakery that specializes in cinnamon rolls. Also, the best ice cream. The Amish love to shop here for all their grocery needs! • Lehman's Hardware - Originally specializing in products used by the Amish community, it has become known worldwide as a source for non-electric goods. The 35,000-square-foot facility bills itself as a "Low Tech Superstore" and a "Purveyor of Historical Technology", both of which are reflected in their motto, "For a Simpler Life". The quarter-mile-long structure is made up of the remnants of a log cabin and three pre-Civil War buildings, including a hand-hewn barn. It is also a popular tourist destination.  •  Hometown Merchants - Locally owned variety store with a large selection of home décor, books, glassware, games, puzzle,  and more. This store is known as the Amish Walmart!! • Amish Home Meal - Enjoy a family style feast and fellowship with the family. You will learn more how they live without all the modern technology! • Hershberger Bakery and Farmers Market - The largest Amish family owned bakery in Amish Country with third generation helping out. You will find a full line of baked goods, also local grown produce in season. Walk out to the petting zoo where you get to pet Big King (the largest registered Belgium horse in Ohio). You will enjoy shopping at the farm store where they have local made items. • Lamp and Light Candle - Owned by Amish ladies, you get to watch them create one of their beautiful carved candles. • Walnut Creek Market Place - A great place to find a lot of locals with their wares, anything from food to crafts, over 100 booths all under roof, climate controlled and wheelchair accessible. Also plenty of places to sit and relax!! You will also find a new winery and brewery in front of the Market.
