This tour combines three unique cities into one extraordinary tour.  The best part of this combination is that we are able to spend all four days in the same hotel in the heart of Dubuque. A perfect mix of history, art, river life, baseball, and shopping … something for everyone!

FEATURES: Convivium Urban Farmstead - A nonprofit whose mission is to improve life through food. They accomplish their missions through classes, demonstrations, and experiences that use food to foster connection to ourselves, our community and our environment. We will take a tour of their greenhouses before enjoying a meal prepared with food they grow. • Celebration Belle  - Become Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn for a full day!  We will cruise the Mississippi River on the largest luxury excursion vessel on the Upper Mississippi River  “The Celebration Belle.”  Enjoy live entertainment as we cruise 65 miles on the Mississippi River. Join the Captain and Crew for a day on the Mighty Mississippi River as we cruise north to Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.  Your day can be what you make of it, a learning experience or simply a leisurely cruise up the Mississippi.  Come hungry, no cruise would be complete without food!  The chef’s stay busy all day long preparing two fresh meals right aboard the boat.  During your excursion, the Captain will be pointing out the various sites along the way and explaining the following:  The wildlife along the river, navigating the river, the river towns and their people, and the tales of the Mighty Mississippi River.  In addition to all of this, there are fabulous entertainers onboard performing your favorite tunes, a great show, comedy, and more! Want to just sit back and enjoy the views – there are plenty of tables and chairs on the two observation decks for you to relax and take in the scenery. •  St. Luke’s United Methodist - Not only known as the first Methodist Church in Iowa but also for the fifth largest collection of Tiffany-stained glass church windows. Here we will see a glimpse of the 105 Tiffany windows. •  Cable Car Square and Fenelon Place Elevator - Referred to as the ‘world’s shortest, steepest, railway’, or the ‘4th Street Elevator,’ this Dubuque icon takes you from the base of Bluff Street all the way to the top of the bluff. There you will see views of the Tri-State region, including the city skyline. • Eagle Point Park  - One of the most outstanding parks in the Midwest. 164 acres overlooking the Mississippi River and Lock and Dam #11. • National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium - Part aquarium, part museum, and part science center that together uses historical artifacts and animal habitats to tell the story of America’s Rivers. The animals, culture and history of our rivers come to life through dynamic exhibits, aquariums, animal encounters, William M. Black dredge boat and more on this 10-acre campus. • The Basilica of St. Francis Xavier - Built in 1888 and is one of the finest examples of Gothic architectural detail in the Midwest. Filled with stained glass and beauty. • Main Street Galena - Voted one of “America’s Best Main Streets” by Fodor’s Travel and Parade.com, you’ll love browsing through Galena’s 19th-century downtown with more than 100 storefronts featuring clothing, jewelry, collectibles, specialty items, gifts and more. • Galena Trolley Tour - A town nestled in the hills and valleys of a former lead mining community, and major river port stop. Enjoy beautiful views as well as wonderful photo opportunities of this historical and architectural town. • U.S. Grant Home State Historic Site - Tour the home of the United States 18th president, Ulysses S. Grant. On Aug. 18, 1865, Galena celebrated the return of its Civil War hero Gen. Ulysses S. Grant. Following a jubilant procession with much flag waving and speeches, a group of Galena citizens presented the General with a handsomely furnished house on Bouthillier Street. It was opened to the public in 1904. Furnishings are original.  •  Field of Dreams Movie Site - An experience like no other – it’s like stepping back in time! No billboards advertise the Field of Dreams, and it’s not a very “touristy” area. Dyersville is a farming community and small town.  The movie site is a family farm with a baseball diamond carved into its heart.  This is the original setting where the movie was filmed. Tour the farm house, run the bases, and meet some special guests. We will enjoy a special time including a ball park themed dinner for our group in the historic barn. • National Farm Toy Museum - The museum is dedicated to the preservation and display of toys related to farm life and agriculture. It was established in 1986 and is now considered one of the leading farm toy museums in the world. The museum features an extensive collection of farm toys, including tractors, trucks, farm animals, and other agricultural equipment. Visitors can explore the history of farm toys through exhibits that showcase toys from various periods, including vintage toys from the early 1900s. The museum also has a rotating collection of special exhibits that showcase specific themes or collections.  • The Veterans Memorial Plaza - Opened in 2009 and included a curved wall dedicated to the branches of service and the wars they served. Flags flew high in the background bracketing an American flag with a POW/MIA banner below it. In the center, a 6-ton granite globe, 5-feet in diameter sat among pavers and benches, each sold to raise money for the project initially. Funded entirely by the Dubuque Racing Association, a $3.2 million improvement project was completed in 2021. The project sought to honor all veterans by unifying and enhancing all existing nearby memorials.
