Door County has more miles of shoreline, more state parks, and more lighthouses than any other county in the United States. It’s picturesque villages, rolling woodlands, limestone bluffs, and beautiful vistas are the reason the area is often referred to as the Cape Cod of the Midwest. We will spend three nights at Rowleys Bay Resort located on the Quiet Side of the Door Peninsula. Situated on 100 secluded acres, dominating a pristine and undeveloped bay with 700 feet of Lake Michigan shoreline, making it one of the most picturesque locations in Door County. We will spend two days touring with a local guide to learn all about this wonderful place.

FEATURES: Rowleys Bay Resort - A down-to-earth waterfront resort dating back to 1948. Walk along the shore, through the woods, or relax on the veranda. • Door County Maritime Museum - Where Great Lakes maritime history comes alive! Located along Sturgeon Bay’s working waterfront, the museum showcases the area’s rich maritime roots. The museum features several interactive exhibits, about hard-working fishermen, brave ship captains, skilled craftsmen, bold inventors, and lonely lighthouse keepers who are just some of the personalities you’ll discover in the galleries of the museum. • Eagle Bluff Lighthouse - A historic light that has guided many ships past this treacherous shoreline. • Fish Boil - Gather around as their master storyteller spins the history of Rowleys Bay and this tasty tradition all while tending to the flaming fire under the huge iron cauldron. Have your camera ready to capture the dramatic boil-over. Then enjoy freshly caught Lake Michigan white fish, onions, and red skin potatoes, all with as much melted butter as you prefer (Full buffet available as well as Fish Boil). • Fish Creek Scenic Boat Tours - Come cruise aboard the 69 passenger partly covered tour boat docked downtown Fish Creek. Enjoy a narrated tour to Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, Peninsula State Park, Millionaire’s Row, Eagle Cave, Ephraim and the many islands, bluffs, and beaches surrounding Door County. • Koepsel's Farm Market - This farm market is a “must stop” for all Door County visitors. The oldest farm market in Door County and the recipes used to make their jams, jellies, and canned goods date back even earlier than the year they opened for business in 1958. Their selection includes home-made jams, jellies, fruit butters, canned goods, as well as fresh bakery items, meats, smoked fish, cheeses, fresh vegetables and fruits. • Door Peninsula Winery - Located in the historic school house. Shop for wine accessories, wine related housewares, glassware, bar accessories, and the largest selection of wine racks. Sample any of their wines and Fish Creek Olive Oil Company’s olive oils and vinegars. Taste, shop, and tour the winery. • Whitefish Dunes State Park - Visit 863 acres of forest and dunes on the rugged Lake Michigan shore with a mile of sand beach, two miles of rocky shore, and the highest sand dunes in Wisconsin. • Cave Point - Acquired by the County of Door in 1943 and is 19 acres of scenic beauty. Well-known for its wave-worn limestone ledges, underwater caves, and stirring view of Lake Michigan, the park is a popular attraction for residents and visitors alike. • The Boynton Chapel - A small wooden chapel built in a late 12th-Century Norwegian stave church (Stavkirke) style. Handcrafted by Winifred and Donald Boynton between 1939 and 1947 on the grounds of their summer residence, the chapel is modeled after the Garmo stave church at Maihaugen in Lillehammer, Norway. The chapel contains 41 hand-painted frescoes and numerous exceptionally fine carved-wood furnishings. • Mars Cheese Castle - Founded in 1947, Mars Cheese Castle has been an icon in Wisconsin for over 60 years. Specializing in cheese, sausage, and wine. You are welcome to bring a small/medium cooler for your purchases.
