A new twist to a forever favorite! We have combined a four hour luncheon cruise on the Mighty Mississippi with John Deere history, and the historic Rock Island Arsenal as part of a fun fall get-away!

HIGHLIGHT CITY:  Moline, IL • Rock Island, IL • Davenport, IA • Muscatine, IA

FEATURES:  Celebration Belle - Join the Captain and Crew for a four hour cruise on the Mighty Mississippi River.  Your time can be what you make of it, a learning experience or simply a leisurely cruise down the Mississippi. Come hungry, no cruise would be complete without food!  During your excursion, the Captain will be pointing out the various sites along the way and explaining the following: The wildlife along the river, navigating the river, the lock and dam, history of the river, the river towns and their people, and the tales of the Mighty Mississippi River.  Want to just sit back and enjoy the views - there are plenty of tables and chairs on the two observation decks for you to relax and take in the scenery. • John Deere Pavilion - One of the largest agricultural exhibits in the world. Climb up into a shiny green combine, and see farm implements old and new as well as interactive agricultural exhibits. • John Deere Store - Carries a wide range of clothing, toys, and merchandise with the famous leaping-deer logo. • Isabel Bloom Studio - Unique and memorable hand crafted sculptures in many whimsical designs. • Rock Island Arsenal - Our guided tour will show us what this island is all about and what it has done to help shape arsenals that are used today. We will also be stopping at the Mississippi River Visitor Center including Lock and Dam #15. Its primary mission is interpreting the development and practice of the navigational dams and locks. • Deere - Wiman Home - In 1872, John Deere's son, Charles, built the Deere-Wiman House for his wife, Mary Little Dickinson Deere, and their daughters, Anna and Katherine, born in 1864 and 1866, respectively. The family named their Swiss Villa style residence “Overlook” because of its desirable hilltop location above the growing city of Moline, Illinois, and the family business, the John Deere Plow Works. In the late 1800’s, Deere-Wiman House was originally Victorian in architecture. However,  after a fire in 1899 caused extensive damage, its roofline was changed, but still served as home to four generations of Deere descendants. After the death of Mrs. Pattie Southall Wiman in 1976, it was donated for public use. • Muscatine History and Industry Center - Showcasing the town's story of becoming the Pearl Button Capital of the World and entering the 1950's as a manufacturing and industrial mecca.
