4 Days
Waitlisted
You have asked … and we listened.   For our second year in a row, we will be spending all three nights on Mackinac Island at the Inn on Mackinac.  You will have plenty of free time to explore, shop, and enjoy the beauty of the island.

For centuries, visitors have enjoyed this national treasure that’s home to historic Fort Mackinac, world-famous Mackinac Island fudge and car-free streets full of horse-drawn carriages. This ideal vacation spot is a paradise of exploration with incredible natural landmarks, awe-inspiring sunrises and unforgettable sunsets. There’s unique shopping, diverse dining and extraordinary nightlife, too. No wonder Travel + Leisure ranked Mackinac Island the “Best Island in the Continental U.S.”

Daily Itinerary:
Day 1: Travel to Mackinaw City, Michigan where we board Shepler’s Mackinac Island Ferry and arrive on the island for our three night stay at the Inn on Mackinac. The year was 1867, an era of horse-drawn carriages and ladies in bustles, the height of Victorian culture, the Inn on Mackinac was built.  Known then as Chateau Beaumont in memory of the famous army surgeon at Fort Mackinac, the Inn on Mackinac has retained its quaint, old fashioned charm. The Inn’s facilities have been updated to meet the needs of the modern traveler while preserving its colorful history.   As you step into downtown from the ferry dock, you will board a horse drawn carriage for a leisurely ride to our hotel.  After a brief introduction to the hotel, you are on your own for the evening. Meal money is included for dinner on the island at a restaurant of your choice.

Day 2:  Our morning starts with a horse drawn carriage tour of the island. You will travel from the busy streets to the state park as you learn all the history of the island and are immersed in the beauty that surrounds you.  As our tour ends, we will arrive at the Grand Hotel for their famous lunch buffet.  Overlooking the world’s longest porch and the glistening Straits of Mackinac, few dining locations are more picturesque than Grand Hotel’s Main Dining Room. The legendary Grand Luncheon Experience is a one-of-a-kind Grand Hotel experience. Offerings include fresh salads, composed salads, fresh seafood including oysters, mussels, and assorted smoked fish, assorted and domestic cheeses and fruits, a variety of hot items and a carvery station. No Grand Luncheon is complete without a lavish and bountiful dessert display.  The afternoon and evening are yours to enjoy on your own.  You may tour the acres of pristine beauty of the island by carriage or bicycle.  Promenade the lakeshore boardwalk in the moonlight or simply marvel in the wonders of pampered relaxation.

Day 3: The entire day is yours to enjoy but before you know it, our time of grace and grand passions on Mackinac Island will be over.  Meal money is included for dinner on the island at a restaurant of your choice.
