|Our day starts at the Museum of Science and Industry which is home to fourteen acres of amazing exhibits and fun live science; you’ll be exploring, interacting, and discovering all day! Manipulate a 40-foot tornado; step inside a real World War II German submarine; tour a coal mine; navigate through a mirror maze; send your pulse to a giant heart; and much more! Entrance includes one special exhibit...Coal Mine, U-505, or Omni-Max Theater and must be chosen at time of reservation. Coal Mine - Descend the mine shaft, take a ride on the rails, and learn the technology of coal mining. U-505 Submarine - Experience the real U-505, the only German submarine in the United States. Omni-Max Theater - Sit back, relax, and enjoy a scientific adventure in Chicago’s only five-story, domed, wrap-around theater. Other exhibits: Fairy Castle, Numbers in Nature: A Mirror Maze, Earth Revealed, Farm Tech, Inventing the Future, All Aboard the Silver Streak; Pioneer Zephyr Train, Yesterday’s Main Street, Wright Flyer, Whispering Gallery, Toy Maker 3000, The Idea Factory, and many more. Lunch will be on your own from the food services at the museum.
Mid afternoon we will make our way to Navy Pier for exploring and a boat tour … Architecture Tour (75 minutes) or Skyline Lake Tour (40 minutes) and must be chosen at time of reservation. Architecture Tour - See the city of Chicago like you've never seen it before. This guided tour takes you on all three branches of the Chicago River, and showcases over 40 of Chicago's famous buildings and architecture. • Skyline Lake Tour - Enjoy majestic views of the Chicago skyline from one of the Great Lakes. This pre-recorded tour takes you out onto Lake Michigan and tells you all about Chicago's renowned skyscrapers and landmarks. • Navy Pier - There’s more to Navy Pier, Chicago’s iconic lakefront destination, than meets the eye! Known as the “People’s Pier,” this landmark showcases more than 50 acres of parks, restaurants, attractions, retail shops, sightseeing and dining cruise boats, exposition facilities and more. Dinner will be on your own.
