This tour is designed to offer a wonderful experience in this National Register of Historic Places.  Our time at the Historic Paramount Theatre will include a guided tour of the theater, a chance hear the now computerized Grand Pipe Organ, enjoy a catered lunch, and stroll the ballroom to view the Festival of Trees.

Paramount Theatre - Opened on August 20, 1929, the John Eberson and Alvin M. Strauss designed Paramount Theatre was the home of film and stage shows for 55 years, until the Paramount closed in 1984. In 1989, the theater was saved from destruction by a concerned group of citizens and renovated. The Paramount Theatre has now been restored to its original opulence. Every part of the theater has been returned to its 1929 state or otherwise improved to modern standards. A classic of Atmospheric style design, the Paramount Theatre is a testament to Eberson’s influential style. The Paramount Theatre was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. • The Grande Page Pipe Organ - One of only three such pipe organs remaining in their original theatre installations in the United States. The Page, installed in 1930 to accompany films, was used continuously until 1984. It was a three manual, seven rank instrument. In 1997, the Page was restored and enlarged to a three manual, 12-rank organ with 966 pipes. The organ is a phenomenal instrument, and it offers an aural experience people talk about long after they have visited. • Paramount Festival of Trees - Enter the Ballroom to a winter wonderland of two dozen trees.  These trees are designed and decorated by local businesses and organizations and are showcased at a Gala event on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  This evening is a favorite of the community as they have a live auction to raffle the trees as a fundraiser for the preservation of the theater.
